Going to a Jubilee...what a legacy....

Last night we went to the Jubilee of the church I grew up in. I kind of hesitantly went - thinking that I wouldn't know anyone, but decided it would be fun to go with my mom, brother, & sister (and of course my husband).

A Jubilee is the celebration of 50 years - and what the Lord has done in those years. It was such a blessing to see the lives impacted in those 50 years. Stow Alliance Fellowship started in a home, and grew so quickly that it was hard to put 100 people in one home. I won't go through the history at this point.

The impact that Stow Alliance had on me and my family is eternal. The foundation of sitting under a pastor that taught the Bible. When Pastor Valentine said, turn to John 3:16 - you could hear pages turning all over the sanctuary - I have never experienced anything since.

It was great to see all the people who impacted our lives in those important growing up years. I think it was a glimpse of what heaven will be like. Seeing all those people that went before us.

I had fun joking with Willie, from my youth group. We had to have the most selfish youth groups around. We had our click and were quite content to keep it that way. Having said that, that group was very close and we had a lot of fun. Out of that youth group came missionaries and pastors - and also laymen that minister in their daily lives. Yes, we were selfish group, but the Lord was working in our lives, anyway. Now, I am not talking about a huge youth group - I think we would have been lucky to get 20 on a good night. Amazing - the Lord can work in a group like that.....

Anyway, I feel very blessed to have grown up in a church that preaches the Bible and to see the fruit...God is good.
