"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground unperceived by your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows." Matt 10:29-31
Our home has become a foster care for animals. Laura is the animal whisperer amongst her piers. Thus, when any animal is in distress, Laura gets the call. In this case, Laura took on the baby birds that were in dire need of being fostered. Long story short, she ended up hand feeding two little birds - every 30 minutes for several weeks. It was interesting to see God's creation from tiny bird to full size in a matter of weeks.
As I watched (and sometimes fed) as these birds were growing up - one was weak from the beginning and eventually died, the other went from strength to strength - enjoying his/her mom (Laura) feeding and then teaching the bird to eat on his own, and watching it learn to fly - I came upon the above verse - that God knows each and every bird (all his creations) and that we are of more value than the sparrows.
I am awestruck by all of God's creations and yet, humans are what God values most. The question is, do humans value God?
