Our home has always been interesting place to live in. Not sure if it makes a difference, but my husband is an engineer - I say that because he has always looked at things differently then myself. I can remember when we were dating he would pick up a salt shaker and attempt to figure out how it was made. His mindset has been the creator of our home environment. It has opened our world to many, many projects. One of our kids friends (who comes from a huge mansion of a house that is always gorgeously clean) said that he loved our home because there was always fun projects going on.
It wasn't until yesterday (25 1/2 years into our marriage) that I have finally figured out - that our home will always be in the midst of a project and the clean, tidy home that I have always yearned for - well, will always be in the midst of yet another project.
From home improvement projects, to kids school projects, to interesting website design projects - we will most likely always have the house in disarray. I thought when the kids left that things would change. This past weekend when one of the kids stopped by, and we had yet another project in the midst - thus the house was a bit of a mess - I realized that we will always be a "work in motion".
Made me think of our relationship with God. Now that is "work in motion". Talk about a big project!!!!! It also made me realize that I would never "arrive" and be perfect. I will always have areas in my live that I will need the Lord's guidance. There will always be projects that God is working on in my life. Getting into the word daily is a priority.
