I have convinced myself that I am not a shopper. In that, I guess I have never been one to shop until I drop - especially when it came to clothes.
I do love to shop for my family. And I love watching other people shop for their family. I have always loved going into DIY stores - NOT because I like what is in it - no - it is fun to look around at happy couples and families shopping to make their house a home. You see them talking to each other making fun decisions on what would work in their home.
I also love watching people shop at grocery stores. So fun to see couples (especially older couples) pick food together. It is a happy scene.
Back to me shopping - I love, love, love looking around for what I think various people in our family would like. Whether it be a special fruit one of the kids love or a special drink - that is my idea of fun shopping.
When the kids were young - the family shopping was great fun. We all had shopped very similarly, meaning that we would congregate into a store - everyone go their separate ways - and amazingly - we would all be done at the same time - and show up in the front of the store to buy our little treasures. I can remember jumping in the car to run to the store quickly to pick a few items up, leaving the kids with dad - only to have all the kids run to the car to join in.
I have to honestly admit - that the first time I found myself in a flood of tears from the beginning of empty nest - was walking into Marc's alone.
Since then, I have learned to suck it up - and the Lord has given me a peace - and I so appreciate my wonderful husband. After all - I married him - and he was my "Prince" before the kids and that is one thing that hasn't changed.
